New web resourse of the Branch of UNESCO Chair

The new web resource is presented. It is named IT in Education for All and it is an official information resource of the Branch of UNESCO Chair "New Information Technologies in education for all". It is located in Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics.
It was created in November 2006. It is a cooperation with International Research and Teaching Center for Information technologies and Systems NAS and MES of Ukraine.

Head of the Branch of UNESCO Chair is Igor Keleberda, PhD, Associate Prof. of Computer Software Dept, KhNURE.

March 8th, Special day of all Women in Ukraine

This is the celebration of spring, the awakening of nature, incarnated in a woman. First flowers start to bloom, and so do the feelings after long winter, the thrilling hopes and expectations that anticipate summer warmth.

The 8th of March is the main spring holiday in Ukraine when all women without any exception feel happy, gorgeous, desired and the most beloved!

On this day men, guys, boys do not forget women, maids, and girls.

To some extent it can be considered equal to the holiday of lovers, as this is the day when gentlemen express special attention to their ladies, surround them with care and love.

Intelligent Multimedia Systems Course

Dr Repka is also a Coordinator of International Collaboration with foreighn partners for Computer Software Department.

This moment she is handling the process of signing to Intelligent Multimedia Systems Course.

The course consists of:
· W3C technologies – XML, SMIL, SVG, VoiceXML and MPEG-7
· Meta data, RDF and the semantic web
· Knowledge representation with the support of XML: ontologies and XML topic maps
· AI and multimedia
· Adaptive hypermedia/multimedia information retrieval
· Architecture and design of intelligent multimedia systems.

Prerequisites and skills: students are expected tohave knowledge on programming, web programming (e.g, PHP,JSP or ASP scripting languages) and database theory (MySQLknowledge will be sufficient). Also some background on XMLis desirable.

Current Project

Sweden-Ukrainian Collaboration in studying and research areas.

In May, 2007 the agreement between School of Mathematics and Systems Engineering, Vaxjo University and Kharkov National University of Radioelectronics, Ukraine was signed.

About her activities

She has completed the Training course in E-Learning organized by Polish – Japanese Institute of Information Technology (Poland). It was held in Kharkiv on 24-25 September, 2007 and it was a part of Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Project “Supporting Ukrainian educational system by the development of teaching teleinformatic technologies”.

She also participated in Polish-Ukrainian Workshop on Software Engineering Curriculum development and e-learning which was held in Warsaw on 6-9 November, 2007
